This was a great series. I didn't know much aboutQuasar (in fact, I thought he was one of the first casualties in House of M but maybe that was another outter space guy) so his death meant nothing more than an excellently written part of a well-told story. Same with the Super-Skrull ending. Great stories; great writing.

I agree, the series was done really well. I look forward to the actual Annhilation series very much after these minis, and this was, I think, the best of the four.

In regards to Killing Galactus, moose n squirrel, I disagree. They just went to all the trouble of reuniting Silver Surfer with him... I 'm thinking he'll stick around. I could be wrong, but I figure if you're going to set surfer up for a return to his old status quo and such inner conflict, you want to play with it a while before you trash it.

Eh, you guys worry too much. That's not even a B+ death by Quasar's standards. He died worse than that in his own book! There was the Ultimate Nullifier, the time he got horsewhipped by Oblivion and bled slowly to death (after Maelstrom cut his hands off), the time he got erased from history...

Really, really an unlucky guy, actually. But compared to all that, just getting sucked into Annihilus's Cosmic Rod is a walk in the park.

You'll be missed Q-Ball.

Here's hoping Quasar comes back in the actual mini-series and whoops some major ass.

I sort of guess Quasar would be cannon fodder when the minis were announced.

Anyway, it's funny that DC proved that they could turn Green Lantern in a major franchise and then Marvel goes and kill off Quasar.

Yeah I had people keep telling me they liked how Quasar was portrayed, but they it was too bad he was going to die, and I just kept saying "we'll see". Well, my hopes were dashed.

But still I enjoyed this mini, along with the Super Skrull one, which hit my buttons even better. In general, I've really liked Annihilation. Maybe because the characters aren't major ones, so the writers have more leeway to do as they please. It feels kind of large, if only because we haven't seen any crossing over of characters from one mini-series to the next. It gives that sense of "This is happening over a large area" kind of feel. To me anyway.

moose n squirrel, I've kind of interpreted that the major threat is now the two enmies Galactus has to deal with, inadverdently set free by Annihilus. Annihilus is apparently still going to be a problem for Nova, but it looks like the Surfer will be dealing with the real "end the universe" threat. Kind of like how the Society was still a problem in Infinite Crisis, but the real concern was Alex Luthor and Superboy-Prime.

Sigh.............

I guess I didn't type "Please don't kill Quasar" on the CBR Forums enough.

Well, the comic certainly didn't suck. I thank the heavens, for that at least. :)

Yeah, this one was a given. For once I'd like to see them reintroduce a long-absent C-lister and use him as something other than cannon fodder.

It's also completely obvious to everybody that they're going to kill off Galactus, right? What I find absolutely silly about this is that (1) they've killed off Galactus at least twice in the last ten years, and look how well that's worked, and (2) they're doing it through the supremely lame mechanism of introducing new random bad guys I can't imagine anybody cares about.

On the whole I liked the Nova series quite a bit, while most of the other Annihilation books I dropped fairly quickly. But I'm really not getting into Annihilation as a whole. So the threat is a big bunch of bug ships from the Negative Zone? I'm still not really feeling it. I remember the old Starlin-style cosmic stories, and even the weaker ones felt more grand and menacing than this.
