Occasionally they're late, but for the most part, it's a compliment! I like publishers that are willing to engage the readers and do a grass-roots kind of thing instead of overextending themselves, which you have not done, apparently, because the company is doing fine. I agree that not having one of the main characters be black is a misstep, but I hope that because the Emissary is black that it will come into play at some point. We'll see. Given the premise, I think the biggest opportunity they missed was having a black character as one of the main POVs. And on the nitpicky side, the scale felt off a bit with the F-15s.
