Should've posted this last time: Ira West profile and appearances, at least in books with the word "Flash" in the title. A quick look does show that yes, only Waid and Johns have used Ira West in their stories post-CoIE, but then before Waid showed up, the emphasis was on establishing a Flash mythos separate from Barry's.

Was Ira West used by anyone other than Mark Waid and Geoff Johns then? (It would not suprise me at all if the answer to this question was no.)

You are, indeed, correct. In #189, Ira made an appearance. Good pickup! So Johns was paying attention!

Iris dying? Wally avoiding Ira? (Last I remember seeing him in Flash #189, they seemed on good terms.)

Or maybe DC editorial keeps its writers so busy tying into major crossovers and line-wide publicity stunts that they don’t have time to really touch on continuity minutae like that.

I think it could be explained by three factors:

— Iris’s own reclusiveness because of her fear regarding her future knowledge affecting the past has probably kept her from keeping in much contact with any of the family.

— Wally has a very poor relationship with his own father, Rudy, and it may be that Ira reminds him of that as well.

— Wally also knows that Ira isn’t actually Iris’s biological father, since she was revealed to be the child of a pair of 30th century folks.
