Yeah, I remember you mentioning something about it being cleared with Marvel, but, honestly, I just forgot the details. :)

But I knew it was cleared, though!!

Ah-ha! I get away with it due to my boysh charm and dazzling smile. Either that or it was the fact that i contacted Joe Quesada about last June and sorted something out with Marvels legal department - (he actually helped me through the process which was nice) so its ok.
I was THIS close to getting the strip on marvels site daily..still..you never know.

Thanks for the mention Brian!

That Savage Dragon cover is a swipe (homage) to the cover to one of the Secret Wars issues, right? Or at least, the cover to the Secret Wars TPB I have (redrawn by Sal Larocca).

In answer to the question about 'Year One', Parkinson is safe under the laws governing parody and satire. Essentially, he's not breaking copyright because he's making fun of them. Gotta love America, right? :)

Wonder Woman would win the karaoke contest. I'm sure she had to prove her Amazonian might in karaoke before she was even allowed to don the mantle of Wonder Woman. While Elektra is probably tone deaf.

And the king of good robots gone bad has to be H.E.R.B.I.E. Remember him? The Fantastic Four's little service robot that replaced the Human Torch for the cartoon so little kids wouldn't set themselves on fire, then got put into the comic so it would seem more like the TV show? Yeah, he was possessed by the evil Doctor Sun, through the Baxter Building's computer-link to the planet Xandar. Went berserk, tried to kill the FF, got blown up for his troubles.

Oh, and let's not forget Brother Eye. "I think I'll create a secret satellite program to spy on the Justice League! That can't possibly go bad." Yeah, way to go, Batman. At least Superman's robots only killed two people when they went berserk. The OMAC death tolls were in the hundreds.

First off, Red Tornado, like his "sister" Tomorrow Woman, was created evil.

And in Young Justice he was taken over by Harm to attack the Pope (by blowing up, of course).

I think he also broke a few laws to save his daughter and ended up in jail, but he was being good at the time.

And Sleestak, would Diana really be worried about Elektra getting stabby at all?

Wonder Woman might throw the contest because Elektra gets stabby when she loses.

Godzilla busting robot Red Ronin ran wild in the pages of The Avengers and I'm sure the Red Tornado has gone nuts before being blown up sometime or another.

And Wonder Woman hands down, I'm sure they do alot more singing on Paradise Island than in ninja camp.

Cover Homage:
Amazing Spider-Man #338

A fine example of Erik Larsen only doing homage to his own covers.

I wouldn't dream of being snarky, but how does Parkinson get away with that? Why hasn't Marvel crushed him for copyright infringement? Does he not make any money off of it? Is that the law? I'm curious.

And wait - T.O. Morrow and Ivo created Tomorrow Woman, who didn't commit any crimes (and they didn't create IT, did they?) and they go to jail, while Superman creates a robot that kills two people and nobody thinks to haul him away? Loren needs to explain that.
