It seems to me that would have more to do with Baby shower game idea than just about anything else. Hello from the US please give a little more detail for us \'dunderheads\'.

Comics that screwed me up?

Death of Superman: read it when I was about five and I didn't read a lot of comics. I thought Big Blue was really dead. First comic I read, actually.

Dark Empire: Luke Skywalker turns evil? Even though he came back, I have never looked at him the same way again. It really alters the entire grand story of the Star Wars Universe.

Arkham Asylum: There aren't words to describe it.

Morrison's Animal Man: Along with AA, still informs the way I think about comics more than anything else.

Dr. Psycho's first appearance: Back when trade paperbacks were new, my (much) older sister got this collection of early Wonder Woman stories, including the first appearance of Dr. Psycho. This was the second comic I ever read, and Dr. Psycho was a scary mo'facky. No one has ever made him quite that scary again.

That Harry always was a wise user of recreational drugs!

As for a reprint of "Foul Play!," it's included in the (highly recommended) EC collection that came out a year or so ago called (strangely enough) "Foul Play." Great book -- profiles of every artist, with a complete story by them showcasing their work. Jack Davis' is the story in question.

I'd also agree that the end of FLEX MENTALLO 4 is one of the most amazing things I've ever read. The beauty of it is is that it could actually be true. Wotta great story.

Polaris-powered punches are *awesome.*

A comic that *really* screwed me up as a kid was an issue of Perez's Wonder Woman, I think, which scared me so much I hid it under the bed until we moved. #55, I think. Dr. Psycho scares the piss out of me because of that one.

And Flex Mentallo #4 was good enough to blow my brain out the back of my head and make me high on comics for a while there. Changed my life.

Dammit Will! That Haunt of Fear issue looks good. Now I'll have to track down a reprint. And yes, I am spoiled by the Spirit Archives; Vol 19 just came out.

The issue of Tomb of Dracula where Dracula quite apparently kills Dr. Strange scared the crap out of me. I regularly read both titles as a six year old since the convenience store was sold out of most other Marvel titles by the time I got there.

Somehow I missed the conclusion of the story in Dr. Strange that month, and thus, thought Dr. Strange really was dead for two months till the next month's issue came out. I was completely freaked out that Dr. Strange had been killed by the bad guy. Only years later did I find the missing issue to find out what happened.

The best part is that Harry takes acid because he's suicidally depressed. Smart move, Harry.
