Is Erik Larsen allowed to homage himself? Isn’t that just recycling a cover idea?
That said, I remember that issue of Amazing Spider-Man vividly, and that whole story art with the Sinister Six was one of my favorites as a kid. Larsen rocked on Amazing, even though his Mary Jane got weirder and weirder looking.

On the subject of homages, I’ve seen the cover of Uncanny X-Men when Cyclops leaves the team (the issue after Jean’s death) hemmoraged, er, homaged, I mean, a handful of times, on other X books. A list of covers homaged frequently is an interesting idea…

True, but if I featured one of those covers, people would guess it super quickly! They burn through THESE super quickly (except the Spider-Girl one, that took the longest by far).

The Amazing Spider-Man and the Tales of Susepense have another Homage. Iron Man 126.

Is that Aquaman cover an homage, or did Brian Bolland just copy the sea life and draw a new Aquaman? It looks more like a rip-off than an homage.

Yes, Brian Bolland is known far and wide as a rip-off artist.

oh yes, he’s just TERRIBLY lazy.
Love this feature! Of course, I love rip-off covers, so I may (definitely) be biased…

Homage apaprently means ripoff now. at least to comics geeks with poor vocabularies who also think snark means something different than it really does.
you are all stupid. i can prove it: you read superhero comic books

“you are all stupid. i can prove it: you read superhero comic books”
Comic book geeks are stupid, eh? No one ever told me that.
No one ever told the schools I went to that either, apparantly.
And if you don’t like comics, why are you here?
