I picked up "Ultimate X-Men" for the first time with this issue and, I admit, I should have read the 70+ issues that came on my $1.99 disc that came with X-Men 3 before jumping in here. Having only read the first arc, I was a little lost with the status quo, but I still enjoyed it nonetheless. Also, the twist on who Cable is was pretty awesome and the exact reason why something like the Ultimate Universe can be fun. Screw the rules and continuity of the 616, let's just grab characters and fundamentally change them in new and interesting ways. I totally dig it.
