Also, how many of them are actual doctors. I know Doom at least is a college dropout, and neither Dr. Light is actually a doctor to my knowledge. Octavius is though, right?

Both Dr. Midnights were “actual” doctors (actually all three are, but I don’t think the current one’s on this list). Doctor Psycho (what a name!) was a psychiatrist, no? And Doctor Light 2 is a scientist, so it’s probably safe to assume she’s got a PhD, though she’s not a medical doctor.

There’s another Dr. Octopus? And I while I knew McNider’s most recent successor spelled the hero name differently than he had, I didn’t remember that Roy Thomas’s creation did. Just expressing my surprise, not challenging anybody.

Ted –
yep, there was a second Do Ock for awhile. Carolyn Trainer, a student of Dr. Octavius. She took over the name when Otto was dead (temporarily, as it turned out). When the original was brought back to life (with Trainer’s help), she faded from the Spider-Man books (at least, as far as I can tell).

Doctor Doom ran his homeland with an iron fist. Do you think the University of Latveria (Home of the Fighting Weasels) could deny his request for an honorary Ph.D?
If Bush has a degree, you’d think a fellow world leader with enough brains to build a time machine at least deserves a doctorate in sports medicine.

– Per the recent Books of Doom, Victor’s title is a self-appointed one taken up when he saw that Reed had gained a PhD.
— Carolyn Trainer was last seen, now calling herself Lady Octopus, in Secret War #1-5.
— Both Charles McNider and Pieter Cross use the “Mid-Nite” spelling, but Beth Chapel used a standard spelling.
— Doctor Bong is great, but what of Doctor Angst?
