I didn't read much into the Pirates, but, yeah, I think yer dead on with the idea that they're building their own secret myths. Dunno if Morrison's actually making a Judgement on 'em, though. Most myths end in blood and death to make way for a rebuilding... Think Norse mythology or Christian Religion. The pirates just got Rangorocked.
