Good points about dice. I may get into them more with Misty's die, but I have a feeling it might be more trouble than it's worth. We'll see.

Matt - Thanks for the nice words. It's not really the energy, it's the time. They take a long time, and I do try to have a life! I'm enjoying writing them immensely, but they do take a while.

Another thing to note about dice is that although they have six sides, the dots on opposite sides always add up to seven. I dunno, I just thought of that.

Greg, I think you're right about this being an insane project. I thought maybe you were going to do a short review of each issue, but each one of these has been a pretty long analysis. I'm impressed you have the energy to write something this long each day. And you're less than 1/4 of the way through it! But keep it up, I'm really enjoying it; you've pointed out a lot of neat details and some really good insights. You rock, Greg!

It’s a six-sided stone of power that makes a man master of destiny.
I don't know if it has been pointed out: Cubes have been linked to the number Seven and the mysteries of creation before, so someone who controlls a cube actually controls all. In some teachings of the Qabalah, the 'Cube of Space' is mentioned, the spiritual universe defined by north, south, west, east, above and beneath. This corresponds to the Seven Days of Creation (Genesis). The Seventh Day and the Seventh Direction is the Middle - the absolute center of the cube. This is also more or less identical to the Fifth Element, Aether, Emptiness, the Quintessence.

Really well thought out piece on probably my least favorite issue of the whole thing. I didn't read much into the Pirates, but, yeah, I think yer dead on with the idea that they're building their own secret myths. Dunno if Morrison's actually making a Judgement on 'em, though. Most myths end in blood and death to make way for a rebuilding... Think Norse mythology or Christian Religion. The pirates just got Rangorocked.

I seem to recall Cam Stewart at Barbelith confirming that Morrison's script called for the identity of the dying pirate at the end to be ambiguous, so as to drive home the idea that the "pirate kings" in the Secret Subway are just faceless bums up top.
