You'll be seeing a lot of Byrne in here, as I think his Amazing Spider-Man run was heavily under-appreciated.

Who are all the heroes in the Mark Bagley’s Amazing Spider-Man double-spread (December Double-Pager #7)? I should know most of them, but I’m drawing a blank on half of them.
The heroes are Darkhawk, Night Thrasher, Moon Knight, Nova and Spider-Man.

The anti-hero is Punisher.

The bad guys are Thunderball, Lynn Church and Midnight. Lynn was working for the Secret Empire. Midnight used to be Moon Knight's sidekick.

Hey while I didn’t care much for JMS’ Spider-Man or for Morlun in particular there’s a two pages of Spidey beating on Morlun to no avail that I remember loving the hell out of, any chance of seeing that?
I've already got all the spreads, but if someone else were to scan that one, I guess I could substitute it for one of the ones I picked! Anyone?

When my only comics outlet was Harco Drugs I remember going there every week and snapping up either the new Spider-Man or the new Whatever Else There Was. I liked that era, that post-Venom pre-Parents era. Even the Parents subplot had a few good main plots and subplots surrounding it before it degenerated into Just The Stupid Parents Plot.

It may not be what people think of when they thing "Spider-Man" but it was still high falutin' crazy ass superhero bullet trains on one side and Peter being pulled in all different directions back home. Round Robin there illustrates my point...Sidekicks turned into monsters, back from the dead? Thunderball? The Secret Empire? The Secret Empire's Secret Cyborg? A whole gaggle of guest stars? Lots of robots to crush? That final bit where they find those cyborg arms? I'm sorry, it may not be Shining Knight or whatever but that is some fun right there.

Yeah, just Marvel Comics.

I will admit, it's mostly because I had them out for scanning already (for various other bits), so I don't have to look for them. :)

Are you just choosing from Marvel comics? I don't see it listed anywhere that you're exclusively choosing from Marvel, but the past ten days have been nothing but. Not that I mind, there's some gorgeous stuff to be sure, but any double page spread month that doesn't include Mike Grell (pick just about any issue of Jon Sable Freelance for an example) borders on being a high crime...

Avengers #329

And yeah, it's amazing the wonders Tom Palmer's inks can do (not meant as a shot at Ryan's work, as come on, that piece is clearly heavily influenced by Palmer's inks).

I'm really enjoying this feature, but I have one question: from what issue is that Paul Ryan double-spread of the Avengers?

Man, that sucker is gorgeous.
