2011 Top DC Characters #60-56
After nearly 1,400 ballots were cast, YOU the reader ranked your favorite comic book characters from 1-10. I assigned point totals to each ranking and then tabulated it all into a Top 100 list. We’re now revealing that list throughout Christmas Eve. Here is the master list of all the characters revealed so far. The countdown continues anew…
60. Red Hood/Robin (Jason Todd) – 301 points (2 first place votes)

59. Bigby Wolf – 303 points (6 first place votes)

58. Poison Ivy – 305 points (1 first place vote)

57. Speedy/Arsenal/Red Arrow (Roy Harper) – 308 points (4 first place votes)

56. Jonah Hex – 313 points (5 first place votes)

Jason Todd? I hope the 2 first place votes at least were for his original stint as Robin. Although I’ve disliked the character in pretty much every incarnation so far.
I am happy to see some love for Jonah Hex. His movie might have been terrible, and his pre-52 series started to get pretty redundant, but I think he’s a great character. I know he was on my list, just can’t remember where exactly he ranked.

I sure do hate Jason Todd. Also Roy, come to think of it, at least everything after & including his first stint as Arsenal.

Well, whaddayaknow, I was hoping the Fables theme to the calendar meant someone from the series would show up today. Pretty impressive ranking for a non-DCU, non-Watchmen character. Boy Blue was in my top 10.

It’s funny – I didn’t think of the idea of trying to make the calendar match with one of the characters on the list until somewhat recently. So I actually had the Fables calendar planned before I thought of matching it up with Bigby’s listing – but it worked out well!

Add me to the list of people who are reeeeaaaally surprised that Jason Todd is on this list. To go from being a character so hated that the readers voted to kill him, to being yet another BS comic book resurrection, to helming an almost universally hated new series in the New 52 — and still be fans’ 60th favorite character? That is surprising.

I had forgotten that Mark Buckingham wasn’t the original artist of Fables.

It makes me sad that out of all the thousands of DC characters ever created, Jason Todd is the absolute favorite of not one, but two!! voters.
It boggles my mind.
