OK, THAT was funny (and silly and goofy) and therefore exemplary of a reason to love comics. I didn’t even realize that series existed.

Beyond the Kirby entry (’cause you GOTTA include Kirby), I was getting a little skeptical about this series — nothing wrong with Stan, Eisner, Morrison or Moore, but it felt a little…perfunctory? Chuck Norris and ROM, though…truly, these ARE reasons to love comics.

The Chuck Norris issue of Deadly Hands of Kung Fu is one of my most treasured possessions.
Speaking of, Kung Fu comics really need to be on this list, damn it. Shang-Chi, Richard Dragon, Iron Fist, Yang… those were some good times.

I’m so tired of Chuck Norris.
Now Bruce Campbell comics, that’s another story.

I was vaguely skeptical of the resurrection of the Chuck Norris meme, but CHUCK NORRIS DRAWN BY STEVE DITKO.

Bill was actually going to write about his love for Alf comics until Chuck Norris laid a roundhouse kick through the computer monitor and upside Bill’s head. Sometimes Chuck has to remind people who’s in charge…

Would it be possible to include a link to the prior 2 or 3 “Reasons to Love Comics” posts at the bottom of each one going forwards? It was easy when there were only 1 or 2, but on a day where there’s a lot of content on the blog (or someone is away for a few days), it’s easy to miss a few.

I am going to set up an archive post soon, Ed, but for now you can just click on the ’365 Reasons to Love Comics’ tag at the bottom of each post to be taken to a list of all the posts so far.

You are loosing it buddy.
ROM was a wacky choice.
But this was really commecial krapp.
No heart or fun or coolness factor here sorry.
I’m a huge Ditko fan (I eben bought Speedball and Archie’s the Fly from the 80′s) but I will never own these in my collection.

Whaddya mean, “even” Speedball? Speedball was a great series. And I think he fought Chuck Norris or a rip-off thereof in an issue. I loved it.
Chuck Norris’ Karate Kommandos wins because it’s a ridiculous concept. And therefore awesome.
