Are you sure Psylock is Asian? All of Jim Lee's (and Gil Kane's) people look like they have Asian eyes to me. So I always put that down to the way he draws people

I have the opposite reaction, though; none of Jim Lee's characters who are supposed to be Asian really look like it; Jubilee's sudden transformation into a Chinese girl around the time of Generation X confused the crap out of me.

I've read the first appearance of Jubilee and she was Asian-American then and looked it. Once she was a full on member with a costume it took me ages to be sure she was the same character as she didn't look very Asian and bore no resemblance to her first appearance.

Although technically, I'll point out that when Claremont was writing Psylocke, the Asian look was supposed to be a telepathic illusion she cast around herself. It was only later, after he left the book, that they decided to bring in Revanche.

So technically, it's not that Psylocke suddenly knows martial arts because she turned Asian. It's that now that she's learned martial arts, she decided she has to look Asian so people won't be confused.

Really? I thought she walked through that gate thing and was Asian all the sudden. Far be it for me to debate the intricasies of Claremont's retarded plots, but I was sure she actually physically changed.
