Although technically, I’ll point out that when Claremont was writing Psylocke, the Asian look was supposed to be a telepathic illusion she cast around herself. It was only later, after he left the book, that they decided to bring in Revanche.

So technically, it’s not that Psylocke suddenly knows martial arts because she turned Asian. It’s that now that she’s learned martial arts, she decided she has to look Asian so people won’t be confused.
