I mean, they didn't get the trade of the first six issues out until issue 9? 10? And when they did, it was a hardcover, which means that a lot of people continued to wait for the paperback. So by the time you get a real surge in interest for the title (because let's face it, "waiting for the trade" is now an industry catchphrase), you've already cancelled the book.
