Blog Shutdown Tonight!

Sunday, February 4th, 2007 at 9:28 AM EST

Updated: Sunday, February 4th, 2007 at 9:33 AM EST

Quoting the big boss man, Jonah Weiland:

Hi Folks,

All of CBR (ComicBookResources.com, the CBR Forums and CBR’s blog Comics Should Be Good) will be offline for extended periods of time on Sunday, February 4th between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM Pacific Standard Time. We’ll be performing server upgrades on two of the servers that run CBR.

What upgrades will we be completing? We’ll be increasing the CPU processing power of the CBR server two-fold, with a three-fold increase in CPU processing power for the Forums/Blog server. The CBR Forums and Comics Should Be Good — which are both hosted on the same server — have both experienced quite a bit of growth in the last three months. As a result, the responsiveness of the forums in that period has become less than good. These upgrades should solve all of those problems.

I’ll post a note Sunday evening updating you on how the upgrades went.

As always, thanks for visiting and your continued support of Comic Book Resources!

Sincerely,

Jonah Weiland
Executive Producer, CBR

Tell ya what, though - I’ll have a new entry on the old blog address (goodcomics.blogspot.com) tonight at 5pm PST, if you really need your Comics Should Be Good fill while the shutdown is occuring.

Luckily, most folks will be watching the Super Bowl, so it won’t be an issue.
