Sorry to say that I have yet to read a memorable comic book written by Dwayne McDuffie.

I like the Justice League animated series episodes he has written though.

Neil...
I just checked TV.com (invaluable source, btw) and both deMatteis and McDuffie are listed as the writers of the episode.
So...I guess that means that I still hold to my "slightly corrected stance"...lol...

Damage Control was a fun miniseries, Static Shock was an awesome show, JLU was a treat, and McDuffie's first issue on Fantastic Four was an incredible, thought-provoking read. So, yeah, he definitely deserves any kudos that you give him. I'm looking forward to seeing what he does on FF.

I believe the Captain Marvel episode was written by DeMatteis. But McDuffie's still awesome. He should be the next big thing, but he'll probably be one of those creators who isn't massive, but are utterly adored by their fans, like Dan Slott or Gail Simone.

A great writer finally getting the showcase he deserves. I loved the Milestone books, Deathlok is still one of my most fondly remembered series, and Beyond was even better than my high expectations.

Then he comes in and fixes JMS' FF in one issue!

I can read FF again!

I just loved Damage Control. It'd be nice to see another couple of mini-series, just enough to get it up to the magic twenty-issue mark (for 'The Essential Damage Control', natch.)

I also thought pretty highly of 'Beyond!', even if it was a little too hardcore-Marvel-geek oriented at times, and even if Gravity was practically redshirted from panel one.

Dwayne McDuffie is great! I mean, it took him just one
issue to revert most of the damage done to the FF on
the previous writer reign of terror! It takes A LOT of
skill to do that!

Once I got in touch with him (to send him the only Milestone comic published in Brazil) and he was quite
a nice guy too. The man rules!

Best,
Hunter (Pedro Bouça)

Well...I've never been a fan of Mr. McDuffie.
I was never particularly fond of his run on Justice League Unlimited (especially that awful Eclipso episode).
To be perfectly, and brutally, honest...anything I've ever seen with his name on it has pretty much prevented me from buying whatever it is.
However, with that said...
I do respect the fact that he is widely respected in the comic community and feel that's very much deserved.
I hope that he can, in my humble opinion, turn things around on Fantastic Four. I sincerely wish him the best of luck and will even give him another chance to "wow" me.

Hmmm...now that I think of it...
Was it him that wrote the JLU episode with the classic Superman/Captain Marvel fight? If so, then I stand corrected a little bit...because that was the best episode of JLU ever.

I can't wait for him to get properly stuck into Fantastic Four. I'm expecting it to be great.

The Milestone line was just great, great comics. Blood Syndicate is still one of my favorite titles ever.
