It'd work if the cloak changed to black, at the cost of emphasizing the Spectre-as-death motif in a potentially cliche fashion. What I dislike about it is that the duotone costume of the classic and, yes, even Jordan designs retaisn a hint of the Spectre's Manichean morality. Well, that and my sense that goofy or fantastic clothing on a spirit is tolerable, but something as earthly as contemporary-style facial hair really isn't.
