Josh, I think you missed the point. I'm pretty sure Dick was only mock raging against the machine. Like, he was raging against the giant bubble machine in the good version of Charlie & The Chocolate factory, not like a giant soul killing machine.

I kind of laughed at parts.

I'm sorry, I'm going to have to disagree with pretty much everything and anything you said and referenced to. This load of tripe is nothing more than the close-minded views and opinions of an angry, little man. It lacks credibility and is extremely opinionated. With that said, I understand that the majority of purpose of a blog is to just that, but your "reasons" if that is what they can be considered are absolutely ludicrous.

1. COMICS MAKE YOU STUPID: I read them regularly, I'm in my second semester of my sophomore year of college in computer programming.

2. COMICS = VIOLENCE: Once again, I'm well above the IQ range that you are perceiving people to be that read comics, and I can deviate the difference between reality and fantasy.

3. That...I agree with you for the fact that I've never read them and don't care about it.

4. KIDS MESS UP COMICS: This might be true in your case, but I don't own vintage comics, for I have only started my own collection. If your grandfather had an iota of intelligence, he would have never let you even breath on them.

5. CHARACTERS NAKED: You seem to have repressed issues that need to be addressed if you want to see a comic book character naked. Besides, with the internet in its current day and age, it isn't hard to find material to masturbate to if that is the case for you.

6. MISOGYNISTIC: Only if you are utterly retarded and don't know how the world functions. If your parents brought you up correctly, you would be able to see how women are supposed to be and to be respected as such.

7. COMICS = GAY: Unless you have scientific evidence backing up this statement, than it is simply hate speech, the worst kind. This shows your true colors, as well as level of intelligence. By how emotional your words are, I could almost see that you are projecting, they have psychiatrists for that type of thing.

8. I have no clue who either of those two are, so I don't have anything to say on that subject.

9. I'm not defending Peter David, but you are overreacting by trying to protect your own infatuation with his work. You really do try way too hard at hiding your own personal interests.

10. ...This is incredibly irrelevant to the rest of your argument that you brought up. Of which, I am not going to even touch it because it isn't applicable to what you have previously stated. You have attempted to summarize the traits and characteristics of the entire comic community by stereotyping them into a small percentage of those that exist within its realms.

So, Dick (Oh, such a fitting name), in conclusion, was that a fitting enough response to this cavalcade of mediocrity by producing bigoted, narrow-minded hate speech summarized in stereotypes and personal opinions and fears?

So twice in a lifetime = “a regular basis”? You’re answering your own question.

Heh. I suppose I was assuming too much there...

"I dunno, to me it seems physically impossible to get sadder than people who feel entitled to big-titty cartoon dinosaur woman porn. "

The people who brought it to get off too a big-titty cartoon dinosaur woman who is posing like she's naked but actually has clothes on?

Joe Rice hardly posts. I think the deadline should be extended until he decides it's time to insult his audience again, which is to say, whenever his next review column is up. Hey, here's something--those columns are called Joe Rice Media Review, but I can't remember the last time I saw something other than comics reviewed in one. So really, they should be called Joe Rice Medium Review. And that needlessly vague; why not just call it Joe Rice Comics Review? Or better yet, Joe Thinks You Have Bad Taste Because You Like George Perez Review?

And I'm sure Declarative Rabbit or Curious Cat will have some zinger about Gerry Conway's Justice League run in the next few days.

SATISFIED?

If Dick doesn't have a post in the next day or two bashing Cronin and Rice for something, then yes, he has definitely sold out and his hater card will be pulled.

Isn't James Meeley primarily known for (1) that "superheroes can't be gay" letter to Young Avengers and (2) some anti-feminist diatribe? If so, I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion from reading my blog. He has left comments there, for whatever that's worth.

Is it really selling out if there's no money (and no hope of money, for that matter) involved? Or did Brian Cronin stiff me? I know he has money--I keep seeing copies of Nature's Metropolis and Changes in the Land in bookstores.

That's a tall statement, Michael. I'm not sure if I believe it. Yes, they are sad. But I bet there's sadder. So sad. Our hobby. So sad.

I hate my life.

"5. Now we can finally see our favorite characters naked. Kaare Andrews gave us a taste of this, and now we want more. Much more. I’m not asking for explicit sex scenes—yet. But if comics are ever going to be a mature medium on par with video games, we need to see Wonder Woman’s breasts."

Without a doubt, the saddest bunch of angry nerds are the ones who are still pissed at Marvel for not giving them naked Shanna from Frank Cho.
