Sad Monday

I've just been informed that Arnold Drake, the co-creator of Deadman, the Doom Patrol, and countless other favorite characters and comics of mine, has passed away.

I got to meet Mr. Drake a couple of times at the San Diego Comic-Con, and he always impressed me as a smart, funny, quirky fellow -- a real original, as original as his work always was. I hope he knew how many of us loved the books he created.

 Rest in peace.

Damn. That's terrible news.

Yeah. Dammit. One of my favorite superhero writers. And he always seemed like a really smart, funny dude from interviews.

Bonus points for both reading and commenting favorably on Grant Morrison's run on the Doom Patrol. :)
