I’d Bring Wolverine Back to His Old Power Levels
Remember when shooting Wolverine would, you know, slow him down?
I’d bring Wolverine back to his older power levels, where he’d have to be a lot more creative with his attacks than just simply waltz in and get shot to pieces with it having little effect upon him.
I THOUGHT that was the point of Marc Guggenheim’s last (really weird) run on Wolverine, but in Jason Aaron’s (otherwise quite good, so far) run on Wolverine, he’s right back to shrugging off bullets like it’s nothing.

Perhaps Marvel didn’t make clear to Jason the result of Guggenheim’s run?

I am over Wolverine because of his current power levels. If he can regenerate from everything, then what’s to be scared of? And it’s not like he has Superman’s sensitivity to world and be heart emotionally. Argh. Just eject the bastich into space.

I liked Wolvie better when his healing factor was just a slight “edge” over everyone else. The surprise a bad guy got when Wolverine didn’t fall after getting stabbed in the chest would allow Wolverine to get a final shot of his own in. Much more drama that way.
Now, it is like he is an Eternal, who can regrow from a single cell.

While he’s still a lot tougher than he used to be, he’s not quite shrugging off the bullets like they’re nothing. He’s actually having to take time out to recover, at least.
What they should have done is just have him shot in the head a lot. That way we could buy him surviving thanks to the Adamantium skull, and he could have still needed to spend a couple of pages healing.
I give them points for effort, even if the execution is far from perfect.

Did you read Wolverine during Civil War? he shrugged off an explosion, completely removing all flesh from his bones.
He got up in a couple minutes. Last time I bought that comic, as it was horrible in every way.

Yeah, I agree. Although, a storyline in which Wolverine contemplates the possibilities – like, why is he bothering to put up with all the aggravation of being a good guy in the first place – could be kind of fun.
