Consider your example of the opening sequence, scientist on the run from gov't agents: beyond-standard stuff, but Cosby/Stokes get the core plot points across within two pages. No decompresison here. I also liked Carter's art, though an unfortunate side effect of his "lined" faces and the coloring resulted in this reader's initial confusion between the scientist and the separated dad. However, I'm a fan of Eureka so I'm really interested in checking this out. I can't wait to read it.
