As you may have noticed, the blog roll is now missing on the sidebar of our front page. Let’s admit it, the thing was pretty cluttered, and I do not know if anyone was ever actually using the thing. It wasn’t the most aesthetically pleasing thing. Instead, we will have a whole separate links PAGE for your amusement, and I think we will try to make it a bit more organized, and this time, rather than just have blogs and sites that I personally vouch for (and by “personally vouch for,” note that does not mean if I didn’t have your site on there, I didn’t like it, odds are about 99% that I just never saw it), I am opening the new links page up to basically ANY and ALL comic sites and blogs out there! Let’s try to make it as good of a link database as there is out there!
For blogs I personally vouch for, however, I’ll start doing some weekly linkblogging again, and there are always the “Comic Blogs Should Be Good” guest spots, as well!
So, let’s hear it, folks! Inundate me with your blog and website links!

Hey, I used the side links all the time! Now you’re requiring me to actually remember all these URLs instead of my usual method which was to come here first and just link off the side! No fair!

I notice I’m not there anymore.
Clearly because Cronin hates me.

No, Graeme, you will still be able to get them from here. You’ll just have to do an extra click.
There will be a “Links” button you’ll click on, and that will have all the links - this time a bit more organized, instead of “in the order that I added them to the blogroll years ago.”

I’ll throw my hat in the ring for http://www.howtomakecomics.net
I write all of the reviews for the site and it had a lot of really great content for aspiring creators, but the webmaster hasn’t posted anything in a long time. I think getting some exposure might jump start his interest, since it has the possibiilty of being a great website rather than just a home for my reviews.

EnterVOID.com is essentially pit fighting for comic artists. We strive to provide an environment for prospective comic artists to sharpen their skills and upgrade their abilities through the fires of mortal combat. Certainly we can’t physically fight other artists, but we do so through art. By creating characters we can then challenge other artists to a battle in which the better sequential will reign supreme.

I used to use the blogroll. All the links really needed were alphabetizing…
For sites, you gotta have Barbelith, CBR, The Engine, Newsarama, the Pulse, Superdickery, Superman Through the Ages, Scans Daily, the X-Axis…
For blogs: the Absorbascon, the Beat, Beaucoup Kevin, Bloggity Blog Blog Blog, Chris’s Invincible Super-Blog, Comic Pants, the Comic Treadmill, Dave’s Long Box, Dial B for Blog (defunct, but maintaining the wonderful archive), Eye on Comics, the Hurting, Jog the Blog, Johnny Bacardi, Listen to Us, We’re Right, Progressive Ruin, the Savage Critics.
That’ll do for a start…

Two suggestions:
http://geniusboyfiremelon.blogspot.com for obvious reasons, and also http://www.sequart.com because I write for them too.
And I use the CSBG links all the time, actually. I usually just pick randomly and see what goodness I can find.

I offer non-moron thoughts to the universe at large (ie humans and other creatures who understand English word language) at …
Thoughts From the Mind-Brain
dwightvlahos.blogspot.com.
There was/were/are other website address places that were in use but unfortunately due to circumstances that are not my fault they are no longer in access by yours truly.
if you want to learn how to make comics not be stupid crap AND also about professionalism in this cut-throat industry AND also get the benefit of learning from a ‘different’ prospective then your own then truly you should read the blog.
If you are stupid stay away because even though you would benefit from ‘common sense’ your moron tendencies will cause mental distress when dealing with superior thinking pieces.
Also, for anyone who goes way back, New Humans of Future IS RETURNING at some point in the near-to-far future when it is ready.

I have a tendency to comment on comics and comics related news pretty frequently on my blog ( http://uncle-sean.com comics posts are: http://uncle-sean.com/tag/comics/) and started weekly “Comic Book Movies I’d Like to See” posts( http://uncle-sean.com/tag/comic-book-movies-id-like-to-see/ ).
Oh, and I used the blog roll recently when I was looking for new blogs to add to my regular reading, found some great stuff there. I look forward to the links page.

I’ve got two sites — or site sections, depending on your interpretation (since they’re on the same domain). First, Flash: Those Who Ride the Lightning, a site full of profiles of the various Flashes, their supporting casts, and their enemies. Started in 1996, and I’m still adding stuff to it.
Also, I blog about comics from time to time at K-Squared Ramblings. Here’s the direct link to the comics category.

Glad to hear you’re updating the links. Even the current blogroll is very useful, but there are a lot of dead sites there, and quite a few mistyped links (a lot of the blogspot.com links have been given a double-slash at the end, somehow).
Rampant ego time! My own Gad, Sir! Comics! is, I suppose, a kind of transatlantic comic blog. The biggest thing on it at the moment is a 7-part, 54-panel review in comic strip format of Bryan Talbot’s Alice in Sunderland; but that probably isn’t typical of the content.

http://www.monitorduty.com, a group comics/geek news/analysis site that features excellent, in-depth character profiles by Alan Kistler, the occassional psuedo-coherent essay by myself, and scores of other cool things from less than a score of other cool people, including Webmaster Michael Hutchison, who used to run Fanzing.

Well, for shameless advertising, I recommend my two sites:
http://lightbringer.comicgenesis.com - My webcomic Lightbringer, which makes many references to mainstream comics while trying to introduce the first superhero to the “real” world.
Or, if you want something on more of a bloggy comic analysis type of thing:
http://atopfourthwall.blogspot.com - Atop the Fourth Wall, my blog where I find the worst comics ever (the latest entry came about because of an entry you had in the Back Issues Box) and make fun of theme page-by-page.

I’m kind of opposed to linking to Superdickery.
Posting a panel from a comic that contains a joke and NOT REALIZING that the creators of the comic were aware that they were making a joke, and then repeating the joke and saying “Haw haw haw! Lookit this funny thing those dumb bastards did completely by mistake”
Ummm…
Not cool.
I like Mort’s site.
Also, can you make the blog links to wordpress work?
(And quite a few of them were outdated. The Beat and Trout in the Milk moved.)

Having read through both their archives a few times…I don’t think Superdickery is set up to laugh at the creators of those covers, anymore than What Were They Thinking! is.
(Just based on his commentary, I’m not even sure the SD webmaster *has* context for a lot of those covers.)
In both cases the focus is the bizarre *results* of their labours. Like MST3K.
And sometimes, you really do have to wonder. There’s stuff in there that can be explained by deliberate creator weirdness, and then there’s - uh, stuff that can’t. ‘Heidi, the Girl Who Loved the Swastika’ is by no-one’s definition a good idea.

Other than the stuff that was on the blogroll before–the stuff that’s still active, that is–there’s the Legion World message board (www.legionworld.net). ComicSpace. The various comic-book-related wikis out there. Comics.org. Lots of database sites, like the DCU unofficial guide, and what have you. The Cape Symposium. The different comic-blog-central-update sites. Sites for comic companies themselves, and for retailers, and webcomics, and creators (neglect not John Rogers’ site at kfmonkey.blogspot.com). ComicBloc and Comixtreme and Newsarama.
Anyway, once you get a page up and we can see what’s there we’ll be able make suggestions to fill in the gaps.
