Humans are apes."

Clearly we've been watching different televangelists.

Another good choice, but mandrills aren’t apes — only the nine species of gibbons, the orangutan, the grilla, and the two species of chimpanzee (and arguably man himself) are apes. Mandrills are a large monkey closely related to baboons!

Arguably man is an ape?!?

What is there to argue?
Humans are apes.

John Byrne had a funny sight gag in Next Men (I think, or maybe one of his other Dark Horse titles): a villain called the Mandriller, which, obviously, was a mandrill who'd had both hands replaced with power drills.

Yeah, I meant monkey. But, you know, monkey, ape, whatever. If I included Beppo, I'll certainly include Mandrill, which I believe means "man-ape."

"Ape-ril" is just a term that sounded cool, and typing up stuff like ape and primate is simply the need for word variety.

Is Mandrill's costume's similarity to that of Dr. Strange only a coincidence?

Indestructible beat me to it.

The Mandrill is the largest species of *monkey*, but not that largest species of *ape*.

I defeated Spark Mandrill. Since I am not very good at the Mega Man games I can't respect him. Mandrill from this colomn wins by default. Plus, I wouldn't mind having pheromone powers. There are a lot worse powers one could have and I can't think of too many that are more useful.

I vote for the thoroughly non-apelike Mark Mandrill, aka the Matter Master!
