Is that a mummy on the moon?!? Freaky *and* cool!

I didn't know that Cameron Stewart drew that cover where the Avengers all got turned into MODOKs. It was brilliantly twisted.

Why are Canadians so good at comics and so bad at being America?

That's the nicest thing you've ever said, Joe. Thanks!

M-eh. Hhaha, that's a good one, man. I don't know why, but I found Eh-pril to M-eh uproariously funny.

Maybe I don't get out enough.

I don't dislike Cameron Stewart's art, but I don't feel the love quite as much as everyone else seems to. He was good in the animated style on Catwoman. I'm less into the more conventional style from Seaguy and Manhatten Guardian though. There's nothing wrong with them, but I can't see anything to make the art stand out either

Per Eric Grant (a friend of mine, actually--small web), who met CS at a party, I was introduced to the man at my local comic book shop in downtown Toronto. Quiet, humble and barely three feet tall, as expected. Seeing him shopping at Dragon Lady, though -- yes, spending his very own hard-drawn money -- also went a long way to explaining the final page in the Wolverine/Doop miniseries.

Manhattan Guardian was the most fun of the Seven Soldiers books. And comics should be fun, shouldn't they?

It's okay Chip, I think that you're dreeeeamy.

And Seaguy is one of the top five things DC has ever published, easy.

Stewart just keeps raising the bar with every project. I enjoyed Seaguy, was extremely impressed with Guardian (particularly the final issue), and was just blown away by his work on Other Side. I never would have thought of him as a great artist for a war story, but geez... Definitely one of the best-drawn books of the year (and with a pretty good story, too).

"just like the awesome Chip Zdarsky (the focus of, as I write this, the most unpopular Reason column yet, judging by replies). "

I was introduced Cameron recently at a party. Unfortunately, I was introduced as a fan (instead of just a fellow partier) and I could think of nothing intelligent to say. I didn't even have an esprit d'escalier/jerkstore moment after. Ah well.

Still, seemed like a nice guy, and I keep finding about stuff that he did that I liked before I knew who'd done it--like those Adventures covers.

I really dig his versatility.

First of all, you spelled "millennium" incorrectly. Second of all, it's not that the posts aren't popular, but I would bet a lot of people never heard of Chip Zdarsky. I know I hadn't. I do appreciate the column about him, though.

The nice thing about Stewart is he's getting better. So the next volume of Seaguy (yeah, right!) will look even neater than the first, which was nice-looking in its own right.

Awwww....I was hoping to get the answer as to why Dale Eaglesham's wife is named "Wolfie." And what about Ty Templeton?

I've a few of Stewart's books, including Seven Soliders: Guardian (no "Manhattan"...it's not in the indicia). I got this sketch of Jake Jordan at the Paradise Con back in 2005. Cameron's on the schedule for the Big Apple Con in June, but that's on the same date as the MoCCA show, so I'll have to pass on that.
