Somebody asked Bendis about that in an interview and he said that other than the Fantastic Four team-up, all the other issues of UMT-U are still considered canon. Though that interview was a couple years ago so who knows what may have changed since then…
Yeah, that seems pretty much impossible given the entirely different origin story for Ultimate Iron Man in his own mini. On the subject of that mini, is the friggin sequel ever coming? That was a good mini tasting like more.

"Does DC have a better or a worse record with its Hawkman series than with its Aquaman series? Discuss."

Ha ha, good question, actually. I think DC FINALLY got Hawkman right with the most recent series that Johns & Morales started. Gray, Palmiotti, and Bennett did a good job of picking up the torch. The series still had some flaws, but it did the most important thing that no other Hawk-series had done before. It made sense, it acknowledged all the different incarnations of the character that previous series tried to ignore, and it was just a fun book to read. DC's decision to turn it into "Hawkgirl" now just seems boneheaded in retrospect, as it killed the series completely, but going into it, who knew people like Simonson and Chaykin would flop so hard? Still, for 49 issues, I read Hawkman and it was the first and only time I ever cared about the character. Thankfully, Johns looks to be writing him again in JSA...

However, through 3 modern Aquaman series, I still don't give a damn. DC has never quite had the continuity issues with Aquaman that they had with Carter & Shayera, but Aquaman has always lacked a sense of consistant direction. Was Aquaman a political intrigue series? An environmental message series? A superhero adventure series? A medival-type magic-under-water series? DC keeps trying and not quite getting it right. They even tried killing him off but that didn't stick either thanks to corporate meddling. The most recent version, Busiek & Guice's "Conan underwater" was a valiant effort, but just didn't seem to click with me, either. Maybe that was just me. I think Aquaman plays better as a Justice League member and occasional star of back-up stories, and his supporting cast play better as guest stars. But I think they should give up on trying to make him the star of his own monthly series.

So, to answer the original question, I vote for Hawkman as having the better track record, at least recently.

"Continuity in Ultimate Marvel is wonky. Anybody remember Ultimate Marvel Team-Up? Try reconciling those issues with the myriad contradictions they’ve posed to the other Ultimate books and you’ll know what I mean. Did they happen? Didn’t they? Did they KIND of happen? Recent exposition seems to be pointing to the third possibility."

I believe that the Ultimate Fantastic Four books occur prior to the Gah-Lak-Tus event.

"I’m actually really interested to read She-Hulk #21 (page 62), “the issue that fixes 90% of Marvel’s continuity problems.” That’s a good solicit text, I tell you what."

Didn't PAD's Captain Marvel already do that? He destroyed the universe and restarted it, but with a few glitches.

"I wonder - does Jeff Parker really, really, really, really like the Agents of Atlas (page 49)?"

He appears to.

Of course, all the cool kids do. The Agents of Atlas mini was easily one of the best things Marvel has published in the past ten years. If this type of results in another Agents mini or ongoing series, so much the better.

Hell, I liked Agents of Atlas better than Nextwave.

Did I say a fly? How silly of me. Stupid flying ants and their stupid flyingness!

Interesting to know about Jenny Finn, Mark. I may have to pick it up.

I didn't say that Turner's FF covers weren't awful, Paul, just not as unbelievably awful as his DC covers. It's as if there's someone at Marvel, like an editor (imagine that!) telling him to tone it down a teeny-tiny bit. You're right, though - still ugly.

'Jenny Finn' is absolutely brilliant, one of the best Lovecraftian comics I've ever read. The thought of it in colour is a bit weird though... it really suited black and white.

The cover of Mighty Avengers #5 shows Ant-Man riding a flying ant (possibly a queen?). Although I can see how your attention might have been drawn elsewhere.

As if he would ride a fly. That's ridiculous.

There were only six issues of the Silver Star series, so the upcoming collection seems mighty expensive. Especially next to the Godland collection, which is the same price for twice the content. Plus, I doubt it's that hard to hunt down the original issues; I found #1 in a discount bin at my LCS.

"Revere" was an interesting take on the monster genre. I was a little disappointed that some things were not really explained well and the ending seemed a bit abrupt but a couple of months ago I ran into the creative team and they said they were adding more story pages to the collected edition.....

If I remember correctly, then there were multiple Silver Surfer's and they belonged to some sort of cult. I can't mind what happened to them but it is indeed a bit confusing. Also yes, Michael Turner's FF covers continue to be terrible, just look at the shape of Mr. Fantastic.
