Those panels of Liz Allen and Betty Brant are really unattractive, like bizarre caricatures. In fact, they are kind of reminiscent of the truly ugly females in the Betty and Veronica digest a few stories up. That gorgeous Romita image of Mary Jane is a serious palate-cleanser. I remember hearing somewhere that they showed the same scenes in flashback from Mary Jane's perspective, and she was avoiding him the same way he was avoiding her, and for the same reasons--they both thought that the person their aunt picked for them was probably someone who couldn't get a date any other way. It's interesting to note how often Wolverine or Banshee is left off the cover. You could tell Cockrum really preferred his own creations (which makes sense), especially Colossus, judging from how often he's in the foreground or the center of the action. Fun game, by the way!
