Apart from the fact that Dave Grohl is playing Tony Stark.

Eh. He's played with both Tom Petty and Queens of the Stone Age. I don't think ANYTHING is a stretch for him.
Is the bald dude Happy Hogan?

Let's hope a trailer hits the web soon, it does look good so far.

This movie just keeps looking better and better. How did this anomaly happen? Who let all these people who are passionate for the subject matter actually work on the movie? I blame John Favreau. The guy's clearly not cut out to be working on Marvel films.

Both this and the new Hulk movie are shaping up to be much better than standard Marvel fare. I don't think it's a coincidence that these are also the first two movies Marvel is producing itself.

I have no faith they won't screw it up. I predict 12-13 minute bits of nonsense dialog based upon how much solo face-time their agents negotiated in their respective contracts broken up by cool CGI scenes.

I eagerly await Pepper Potts' three musical numbers, and Tony Stark's two dance sequences (to illustrate how evil the War Machine armour makes him).

Bridges as Stane looks amazing. I didn't think they'd go so far with the appearance.

So far, Sam Jackson is just a rumor.

Downey looks like a cross between Dave Navarro and Cesar Romero.
The goatee thing seems wrong for the part. Maybe they did it because moustaches without a beard are kind of out right now.

I could be wrong, but I thik the Ultimate Universe version of Tony Stark does have a goatee.
I didn't know Samuel L Jackson was rumoured to be Tony Stark until I saw it in this thread. That would be great!

Yes, because Robert Downey in the middle of the picture is not good enough to play Tony Stark.
(Just kidding, I have faith in him)
Jackson is rumored to play Nick Fury, of course.

Not only is this the first movie without other studio interference, I believe this is also the first movie that Avi Arad didn't have a hand in at all. Interesting. You know, its bizaare, how could the guy that gave us Bryan Singer on X-men and Sam Raimi on Spider-Man also give us... well, everything else that Marvel has done.

It's a tough call on Tony Strak's facial hair. I mean, the goatee is universally uncool, but the solo moustache makes you look like a cop or a child molester.
