Yikes, I read the header and thought “finally, I’ll know a bunch of these,” and I only come up with 4. My excuse is that it’s early.

6. The Cult
11. Sword of Azrael
13. Long Halloween
19. Dark Victory

4. Batman: GCPD
8. Batman: Death and the Maidens
10. I should know this one. Ed Brubaker wrote an issue… Okay, Batman: Turning Points
13. Batman: The Long Halloween
19. Batman: Dark Victory

12. Gotham Nights (2 series exist, written by the excellent John Ostrander)

16 is(I think) Batman:Manbat by Jamie Delano and John Bolton

Is 2 The Doom That Came To Gotham? and I think 20 is Orpheus Rising

I think # 1 is “Batman: Prodigal” – which is Dick Grayson taking over as Batman and deciding he’s better off as Nightwing.

17: Batman: Gotham by Gaslight

10 kind of sounds like Year One, but that wasn’t a mini, and 7 kind of sounds like The Dark Knight Strikes Back, but I don’t remember that having a “Batman” at the start of the title.

Is 3. Dark Knight of the Round Table? I have it but haven’t read it yet.

1. I might guess Knightsend if it isn’t Prodigal
5. Batman: Toyman or is this too obvious?
7. Outlaws
9. Books of the Dead
10. I agree that it’s Turning Points
14. The Ankh
17. Strange Apparitions?
18. Hollywood Knights

I’m shocked by how many I didn’t know

Without going to Google….

1. Turning Points?
2. ?
3. ?
4. ?
5. ?
6. The Cult but IIRC it also happens (due to Poison Ivy’s kiss) in The Long Halloween or Dark Victory
7. Public Enemy
8. Death and The Maidens
9. The Ankh?
10. Turning Points?
11. The Sword of Azrael?
12. Gotham Nights (or something like that)
13. The Long Halloween
14. ?
15. ?
17. ?
18. ?
19. Dark Victory
20. ?

Damn – Outlaws – that’s what I meant when I said Public Enemy

1)Prodigal Son
6)The Cult
10)Year One
13)The Long Halloween
19)Dark Victory

20. Batman: Jazz

Note that Brian says “miniseries,” not “events” such as “Knightfall” and such.

17. Batman: Nosferatu, maybe. It’s been a while since I’ve read it.

18. Batman: It’s Joker Time! Again, maybe.

The real question: Not being a (current) Batman fan, which of these are the best?

Tackling some of the ones not yet tackled:

#3 is Dark Knight of the Round Table

#15 is Batman: Family

#17 sounds like Haunted Gotham.

1) Batman: Bane of the Demon

I made a mistake. No. 20 should be Batman: Fortunate Son.

Wow that was odd. I just wrote an really long comment but after I clicked submit my comment didn’t show up. Grrrr… well I’m not writing all that over again. Anyways, just wanted to say excellent blog!

I really think #11 has to do with Red Hood.
After watching the animated movie Under The Red Hood a while back I did some research into Jason Todd as Red Hood and read a bit of that part of his story. I think it’s the story arc “Batman: Under The Hood”
