Indiana Jones Returns to Comics!

I think that, of all the major TV and film licenses, Indiana Jones probably had THE best percentage of good comics out of all of them (Perhaps Lone Ranger, now that I think about it...hmmm...perhaps 2 should inquire with you folks out there...), so it is good to hear that Dark Horse is both going to be collecting their past work with Indiana Jones as well as releasing new Indiana Jones comic books.

I am a bit less enthused about the "Creepy" and "Eerie" pick-ups, as while it may be a nice move, financially, for Dark Horse, it doesn't really mean anything to us readers in a critical sense. Dark Horse already has quite a few horror comics, so having a brand to put them with doesn't seem like it would help to make better comic stories, really. It's nice to see the older "Creepy" and "Eerie" comics collected, though!

That's great that Lucasfilm is doing this. I enjoyed the Indy minis when they came out from Dark Horse. Now, if DHP can get the rights to reprint the Further Adventures of Indiana Jones from Marvel, I'd be even happier. There were some solid stories in there done by some great artist (Byrne, Chaykin, Gammill, etc.).

Yeah, up until Michelinie left the book, Indiana Jones was definitely a good book.

Then it stunk. But luckily it didn't last too long (and even the bad issues had Steve Ditko artwork, which is something!).

Warren reprints!? Kickarse!
