HIs art work really did drastically improve over time; in his later years he was like a mash up of Romita, Buscema, and Gil Kane.

Eerie–I was kicking myself just tonight for not suggesting Bill Everett when you asked for suggestions for Bill Week, and yet here he shows up! It’s nice to see some of the Golden Age creators getting their turn in the spotlight; after all, without them, we wouldn’t have comics to love in the first place.

Well MOSTLY the artist on Daredevil # 1.

But he really did get better as he went. I like the end of his Submariner run better than the beginning, what I’ve seen of his fifties Atlas stuff better still, and I honestly think he peaked with Sub-Mariner (2cd series.)

I had no idea about that whole William Blake stuff. That’s pretty rad.

Also worth mentioning is that he was the Man Without Fear’s first artist! That’s right, he brought us Daredevil in all his ketchup and mustard glory. Excellent origin issue, that was.
