Yeah, I'll admit, it DOES seem kinda silly to make a stink over an ADVERTISEMENT, but I bet they have exclusive deals set up with other movies where the trailer will "officially" debut, so I bet that's the problem.

But really, why would they deprive us of being able to watch this poorly filmed trailer over and over and over and over and over and over and over again so that by May of next year we'd be so psyched that it'd break all box office records?

Paramount sucks.

Oh, come on. Now you're really reaching. That's not a joke, and it was in the trailer for, like, five seconds. It's not like it was the 90's cartoon, shouting "I! Am! Iron Man!" over and over.

Forgive me, I'm probably missing the point, but: This is a comic book movie about a guy who can fly around in a cool iron suit that shoots repulsor rays, and we're worried about a few corny, comparatively underplayed sight gags?

It looks amazing. I'm another one who was never really a big Iron Man fan, but I've been looking forward to that movie since I found out Downey Jr had been cast.

Downey is sleepwalking through it, you can just tell from the trailer.

I can't. To me, it looks like he's playing one of the most socially and financially successful men in the world, who's already bored by how much people love him. Or, as Marvel calls him, "Tony Stark".

And how many goofy sight gags were in a one minute trailer? Three? Four? Oh, punched wall so hard he got stuck.

That's one. I can't think of any others. Care to elaborate?

Out of all of the Marvel films and their casting, getting Downey was by far the best of them. He has the cockiness down cold. I think this might be the Marvel film to beat.

Ditto. Sleepwalking or no, Downey Jr absolutely sells Tony Stark to me...also, that suit may just be the coolest thing ever in the history of coolness.

I think we're kind of lucky with Iron Man in the sense that it's ALREADY such a great toy tie-in that we won't have to worry about stuff like that.

But I certainly understand your trepidation, and I know you're not saying this just to be a pain - you just think the movie looks corny, which is fair enough.

I still think it looks cool, though!

And using the "Iron Man" song isn't new. They modified it for use as the theme in the nineties show.
