- by Brian Cronin
- in General
You may recall the little "to-do" over the fact that Comic Foundry wasn't going to be distributed by Diamond. Well, that was all resolved, and the first issue is coming out - TOMORROW!

Be sure to check it out at your comic shop!
Now if only someone would send me a review copy....

I'm looking forward to Mr Fraction's advice on how to sex up Kieron Gillen, myself.

What the hell? This looks like some sort of hideous hybrid of Maxim and Teen Beat. But only for nerds.
Is this going out on actual magazine stands where regular non-comics people can see it? I'm already cringing.

I can hope that it will involve Garth Ennis writing a very profane story about Avril Lavigne drawn by Kyle Baker and Adrian Tomine. And that makes me happy.

Well, I didn't want to say it and be discouraging.
But yeah. Agree completely. Lord amighty this looks dumb. I had a feeling when I read promotional crap for this and the guy kept using the word "Lifestyle." To bite material from George Carlin...
Still, it's almost certainly less stupid than the cover. I mean, it would almost HAVE to be, right?
(Unless the first page reads "DUURRR! DUH! DUUUUURRRRR! *DROOL* DURRRR!")
And Ian Brill's doing some stuff for this, and he's a fine writer.

With all the pissing and moaning that went on when Diamond wouldn't carry it the first time, this damn thing better cure cancer.

I think the cover design is a little tongue-in-cheek, and might be keyed off of the "fashion" story, so later issues will have a different tone.
And I want to know who the hot girl is.

I'm not sure that's a totally bad thing, at least in terms of aesthetics.

That cover really does it no favours, but it's still 90% better than most Wizard mag covers.

"And they say I leave sniffy comments… "
Remember when Hatcher was like, a nice, positive, upbeat guy?
I guess the blog-o-sphere spreads it's hate-on to everyone, eventually.
