Pretty sure Omar's spot on about the three ladies Nightwing's fighting. Beat me to the observation, too! Dragon Fly, Silken Spider, and Tiger Moth -- the three deadliest women in the world according to the issue where Poison Ivy first showed up to demonstrate that those chicks weren't all that at all.
Also, on the JLA Classified cover -- I could not be happier about the prospect of Justice League Qward. Now I want to see them supplementing the Sinestro Corps to crush all and sundry in their paths. And I know I can't be the only one!

"But it is a fair point, and I will do my best to work the title into each piece."

Why do you need to work it in awkwardly? Just list it at the top in uppercase or something.

Por ejemplo:

BATMAN/SUPERMAN #42

Pretty creepy facial expression on Aqualad in this Jesus Saiz cover.

((Image))

It is almost as though he wants to make out with me. Creeeeeepy! Thanks, but no thanks, Aqualad. I would not be "into" that. I wish you were real.

I mean--!!! CREEPY! So creepy.

I might be a "sick deviant", but at LEAST I'm not the one who's drawing the cover and publishing it!

Kind of hypocritical of them, isn't it? To print a cover like that and then not publish issues like Ellis' Hellblazer "Shoot" and Veitch's story about Swamp Thing meeting Jesus on a walk in the swamp.

Jesus, what is it with DC these days? Half of these stories sound like horrible crap, and the other half sound like they might be halfway decent if they weren’t so heavily tied in to the rest of the horrible crap.

Hard as it is to believe, the multi-part Batman crossover is the most interesting thing out of all the solicitations.
Yeah, tie-in mini-series that tie-in to other tie-in mini-series!!!

So absurd.

That Batman Strikes cover… Is Batman sad that someone else beat up all his villains? Or… what’s going on there?
Yeah, I don't get it.

On his blog, Sean Phillips shows his cooler Vinyl Underground covers that were rejected by editorial. I will pick up the series on a trial basis, at least, and yes, mostly on the strength of Cam Stewart’s name (and he’s only inking it!). It does have a fun premise, though. I am intrigued.
Oh really?

Thanks, Bill! That explains so much.

I am so disappointed to have the word-perfect title/imprint/designation ELSEWORLDS replaced with the beyond average TALES FROM THE MULTIVERSE. Yawn.
Yeah, it's an awfully weird decision.

– Forgive me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t the Crime Bible stuff in 52 Morrison’s idea? And if so, mightn’t those cool names be from Grant’s notes rather than Greg’s?
Darn you, Omar!

I was trying to PRAISE Rucka for once! :)

— I’d wager good (if nonexistent) money that the Brave and the Bold cover will have word balloons on it.
There IS a strong chance.

— Hokey smokes, do I detect hints of Sienkewicz in that Bianchi cover for Detective Comics?
I can see that.

— Holy Crow, Nightwing seems to be using those three obscure villainesses from the first-eve Poison Ivy story!
Is THAT who they are?

— I’ve been rather critical of Cooke’s writing on The Spirit, but there’s simply nothing but praise possible for his art. And the covers have been no exception.
Yeppers.

— Not only does the Justice League of America cover play classic, it even manages to run with the old-school “heroes vs. archfoes” pairing off notion! If McDuffie does nothing more than run through versions of the animated series plotlines, he’ll improve the book tremendously.
I was thinking that, too.

Such a simple concept, yet it works so well.

— I must say that I’m impressed with the way Dave Johnson’s Freedom Fighters cover manages to use Steranko design elements from the covers of SHIELD #1 and #4 without lapsing into lazy “homage.”
Totally agreed.

I have to admit, Tony Daniel has come a LONG way since his “The Tenth” days. It’s great to see artists evolve and improve like he has.
Yeah, I mentioned that last month - I totally agree.

I notice now that DC currently has this effect. No matter how much I like a writer, I know that the moment Didio snatches them up they will be doing crap, unless they get lucky enough to do Verigo, creator-owned or All-Star, where I think his influence is considerably less.
Hmmm...there may be something to this theory...

After being called out for relying too heavily on the one word dismissal “lame” I notice that you do not use it in that context at all during this post. This must have been very hard for you, and I applaud you for the effort!
Ha!!

I didn't even notice that! You sure I didn't use it?

But I will take the applause. ;)

A PS: I do notice and realize you ID the comics much of the time but not every time.
Phew! You were freaking me out for a sec there. :)

Yeah, I know people like to know the title names, and I try my best to work the names in, but sometimes it gets quite awkward to work the name into conversation, especially when the name is something like Countdown The Search for Ray Palmer: Red Rain, or whatever that comic is called!

But it is a fair point, and I will do my best to work the title into each piece.
