One of the Best Marvel Comic No One Reads Just Got Better

So, Spider-Man Loves Mary Jane (with writer Sean McKeever and artists Takeshi Miyazawa and currently David Hahn, with colors by Christina Strain) was already one of the best Marvel titles that no one seems to actually read, but now, besides new writer Terry Moore (which, let’s be honest, I don’t think any of us really know what to expect in regards to Moore’s work on the title), now the title has a new penciler – Adrian “Runaways” Alphona!!

The book will at least LOOK really good!

Very interesting decision on his Runaways follow-up project.

I’ve got a great idea for a comic. It’s a modern retelling of Supergirl, but it’s told from the prospective of the hollow tree that she kept her robot double in. It’s called, “Hollow Tree Containing Supergirl’s Robot Double Loves Supergirl”.

I’m so glad to see Alphona hasn’t dropped off the edge of the world after all! I spent ages after he finished on Runaways trying to find what he was doing next.
MJ is going to be a fashion GODDESS drawn by him.

I have always maintained that the best way to sell more copies of SM

Huh, I think the symbol I used for a heart interpreted half my post as an open bracket.

I have always maintained that the best way to sell more copies of SMLMJ is to print a run with a fake cover every week with Wolverine on the cover and the title in tiny letters in the corner so that insecure nerds can buy it without thinking everyone else in the store thinks they’re a wuss. Then they can take the fake cover off at home and the real one’s under it.

I feel like a derelict fan, because I keep on hearing how great SMLMJ is, and yet I can’t find the interest to check it out. I’m just not interested in teen romance, you know?

Alphona’s awesome, and he excels at drawing teens, so he should be a perfect fit for this series.

Art = good, writing likely = terrible.

Good god I hate SiP.

Hey, I read S-MLMJ!

Of course, that’s because I buy it for my daughter …
