Actually, people seem to be assuming Winnick will write the Titans series, because he’s doing the Titans East one-shot.

Oh…well….that’s….something.

But with Tomasi replacing Wolfman on Nightwing, it would seem to work out schedule-wise, and he’s also just coming off writing the screenplay for the Judas Contract animated movie, so it’s not like he’d really need to jog his memory of the characters. If they really wanted the fanboy dollar- and why the heck else would they field that roster- they’d get Wolfman, so it’ll be interesting to see what happens.

Interesting and irrelevant story, re: Marv Wolfman that you may or may not already know. He ran a fanzine with Gene Simmons when they were kids (or so Gene’s said in interviews, anyway)!

Just announced: the Titans East oneshot will lead to a new Titans series starring Nightwing, Cyborg, Starfire, Raven and Beast Boy. Shooter back on the Legion, Aragones back on Bat Lash, Dixon back on Robin, the ’80s Titans reformed… everything old really is new again.

Wow, that is amazing – is Wolfman going to be writing the Titans series? That would cinch it right there!

Ellis’s comments are here. Rereading them, I realize that he said DiDio actually had no idea what the specifics of his deal with Marvel was. However, given how they’ve handled the WSU for the past year, it’s not too much of a stretch to guess that somebody at DC is clueless as to how to handle the line.

But as Ellis says in the post, it’s not Dido’s job to know about Wildstorm – it’s got an entirely different editorial team.
He’d probably be as clueless about Vertigo and Minx and anything to do with Manga publishing as well – it’s not his department.

He did co-create Bat Lash after all, and worked on a number of Western comics for DC in the late 60s or early 70s.

I’d rather see Nicieza or maybe Weir and Defillips on Nightwing but it could be a lot worse.

More Morrison Superman is awesome, especially done-in-ones with rotating artists. It sounds like the sort of thing that will work to Morrison’s strengths perfectly.

Didio as the editor on Teen Titans is a bit weird to me too. The book is okay, but what about it causes the EiC to personally want to edit it? And why does that worry me…?

Yeah, it DOES sound pretty darn weird, doesn’t it?

Perhaps he just feels a bit detached from the comic line, and when an opening arose at Teen Titans, he thought it would be fun to fill it himself.

am i the only one who would rather have rucka back on nightwing and tomosi on robin?

while i generally liked rucka work in the bat books, his nightwing was the best. his robin seemed like an after thought to this (even though it came first).

I presume you meant Dixon instead of Rucka, right?

In which case, I totally agree with you, but if I can’t have that, I’d gladly settle for this.
