The closest I remember the book getting is the fact that Sivana heads up Homeleand Security. Addmittedly, it's been awhile since I've read it and am too lazy to look for all the issues, but I remember stuff alluding to the War on Terror and the "with us or against us" attitude of the Bush Administration. It wasn't sledgehammer unsubtle, but I got a definite dig against Bush or two out of it. Like I said, I don't object, I just found it odd. Maybe I read too far in to it, but I definitely remember it being there. Maybe I was like Homer and started making up my own comic when I got bored.
