Ok... Spidey is one, Captain America is two, im guessing Daredevil and Doctor Doom. Where is the Red Skull in all of this... Or the classic villains Doc Oc and Sandman... Venom/Scorpion... Goblin. There are a lot of holes but I guess the best way to make the list is to start from #1 and go down rather than #50 up. I wonder where Optimus Prime would rank if admitted to this list.

Captain America getting offed probably means a huge boost.
Spiderman is just great.
Can't believe Black Bolt didn't get in. Even more unwilling to believe that Prof X isn't in. Also, boo for no Sentry.
I think one of the DDs might not make it.

Most surprised at the absence of Spider-Woman and Elektra. Also thought Moon Knight and Ghost Rider would show up.

And it's weird that Deadpool ranked so high when Cable didn't make the list at all. I'd have thought Cable was the more popular (I guess that he was long, long ago).

I also thought Wolvie would make the top 5. Even if people are sick of him now, he was so great back in the day...

The biggest surprise to me was Adam Warlock even being on the list, and specially ranking ahead of Rogue, Iceman, The Human Torch, etc. I'm not that surprised by Nova and Madrox being that high, due to their recent popularity.

I also find interesting that, while being #2 on the top 50 X-men, Rogue was only the 10th here, and she didn't even made the top 10 if you count Magneto as an X-man. I'm thinking that she got much more votes on the X-men one due to Mike Carey's run, which made her an awesome character again, but is not being read by many people who do not follow X-men usually.

Longshot has always been a favorite of mine as well, and made my list. I think it has a lot to do with Art Adams' art.

Herc would have made my 11-20.

The ones I miss most on the list are Hercules,Loki,& Valkyrie. Herc because he makes whatever comic he's in that much more fun to read. Loki because he's such a great foil for Thor.The interpersonal relationship between the Brothers,and their Father Odin,is something very neat when it's well player on(like in Loki's mini series or Son of Asgard.) Valkyrie because of consistent high quality she tends to exude.Save her one shot,which wasn't terribly thought out,she's a positive in just about every book she's taken adequate part in. I might have considered casting for Union Jack or even Spitfire if the Marvel field weren't so full of good characters.I quite liked Jack's mini and very much enjoyed the classic Invaders series.But I knew neither would make it. I'm a tad surprised Spider-Woman(Jessica Drew)didn't make it,actually.

That's my guess too, though I'm shocked that there's been no Jessica Drew Spider-Woman, Ghost Rider, Elektra, or Moon Knight. And what's with Dazzler not making the list?! Or my cult favorite- Longshot?

Well, Nova was the "Spider-Man" for those who were kids on the '70s (like me). And since most super-hero readers today were kids on the 70s, it's no surprise the character is popular.

I really liked the guy when I was young - and he got a good series now (and it was about time after so many failures!).

Really surprising some of the characters who never made it all...I'd love to see which characters managed to just miss the top 50.
