Sure, it's simple, but it tells the story so clearly, and so affectingly, that I would go with "minimalist" or "understated". Really, I've seen a lot of "not good" comics, and Jason is so far above those that painting him with that same brush is borderline offensive (although you were probably kind of going for that reaction, but still). But yeah, Jason is pretty awesome. I've read both of these, plus You Can't Get There From Here and Why Are You Doing This?, and I think I Killed Adolf Hitler might be my favorite so far. I really need to check out his other stuff, especially Hey, Wait and Meow, Baby. And the others, of course. By the way, the upcoming collection of his early works features actual human characters, rather than anthropomorphic animals, which will be super-weird. I can't wait.
