hen I made my list I was only thinking of the DCU proper. Not stuff like Fables and Preacher. My list would've been different if I was thinking of anything DC publishes.

For what it's worth, I had Mxyzptlk somewhere in mine. Still waiting....

More disappointed about Mr. Mind. C'mon, a little love for a butterfly that eats the universe. Galactus got nothin' on him (maybe a reason to love comics, Bill?)

I'm surprised Jesse would lead Cassidy by such a wide margin, as it's been my experience that everyone I introduce to Preacher tells me that Cassidy is by far their favorite part of the comic.

He's the most entertaining character in the early issues and the most compelling in the later ones. I guess his sordid past outweighs his eventual redemption for most people.

Bigby was my #1 (had I actually voted in time). It's good to see that he's at least in the Top 100 - though by nature of him receiving my #1 vote, I think he deserved higher than #76.

Who told Beast Boy to get that outfit, it clashes terribly with his greenness at least Batman has a sense of style!

No Boston Brand then? Theres a hero who could wear a red outfit...well at least no one else could see it anyway.

Once more into the breach. Let's look at group statistics a bit. I split the DC characters into 9 groups to gauge how they did on the list. Note, each character was only placed in one of these groups, the one they are most associated with. Note, this means Batman and Superman didn't make the JLA list.

Teen Titans : 10 members, 1769 points, average of 177 points, highest member at #6, rough average of #40

JSA : 4 members, 720 points, average of 180 points, highest member at #29, rough average of #40

Marvel Family : 3 members, 582 points, average of 194 points, highest member at #27, rough average of #38

Vertigo Jam : 10 members, 2258 points, average of 226 points, highest member at #19, rough average of #34

Watchmen : 2 members, 453 points, average of 227 points, highest member at #17, rough average of #34

Birds of Prey : 6 members, 1424 points, average of 237 points, highest member at #10, rough average of #31

JLI : 4 members, 1390 points, average of 348 points, highest member at #12, rough average of #21

JLA : 16 members!, 61236 points!, average of 382 points, highest member at #3, rough average of #14

Super-family : 4 members, 1940 points, average of 485 points, highest member at #2, rough average of #10

Bat-clan : 6 members, 4166 points, average of 694 points!, highest member at #1!, rough average of #6!

It bears noting that while I included them in different groups the four Flashes averaged 474 points (roughly #10) and the five Green Lanterns averaged 407 points (roughly #13). Again, the concept of Legacy rears its head. While their is some overlap between X-Men/Spiderman and the Avengers, the JLA is filled with characters that worked their way up through Batman and/or Teen Titans or the JSA or Birds of Prey or... you get the idea.

Will - Tommy was in the low 50s. 52 or 53.

I have to say, I'm kind of surprised that Mr. Mxyzptlk hasn't shown up yet. Should I not be?
