I think it's nice that the gay heroes are out there, and the fact that it isn't proclaimed so much is to be expected, since coming out right with it would prolly turn off a lot of the homophobic fan-boys.

I always figured Ozymandias to be gay, or at a minimum, metro. He’s just to foofy.

Both Ozymandias and Rorschach have subtle and not-so-subtle homosexual subtexts to them, though nothing definite is ever revealed about their sexuality in the series.

Add to that the 3 homosexual Minutemen, only the lesbian Silhouette being clearly identified as such in the series, and I'm not sure whether Alan Moore should be applauded for his subtlety or condemned for dancing around the issue.

This has probably been suggested, and would add some more work for someone who's gone above and beyond with these fun lists, but any thought about collecting votes for a Top 50 INDEPENDENT character list (pretty much anyone not Marvel or DC?).

I'd be curious to see it, it would sure be less predictable and more diverse than the previous two lists (we'd be seeing a whole lot of names from Groo to Spawn to Reid Flemming, World's Toughest Milkman!).

Even just a top 25 would be cool.

Just a thought.

I really think that the Vertigo/Watchmen guys (that don't exist at all in the DCU like Spider or Bigby) should have been not part of the list, but that's just me.

Barda! At last! Yay! Best comic book wife ever!
Kind of sad that she finally makes the list just in time for her death scene in the new book. But, oh well, hey, look, it's Barda! At last! Yay!

Now if Mon-el and Barnabas the Dog could squeeze into the final ten....

In my list of favorite supporting characters from any company, Commissioner Gordon and Alfred Penntworth would tie for first place.

We're at #90 and we still have only one Legionnaire on the list? I really don't expect my LoSH vote to show up (Sunboy) but no Timber Wolf? Wildfire? Mon-el? Saturn Girl?

Heck, I figured all the Ambush Bug and JLI fans would have gotten Matter-Eater Lad onto the list.

It's fitting that Lois and Alfred are tied in the rankings — DC's two biggest icons' two significant others, sharing the spotlight.
