Groo: Hell On Earth #1. I’m shocked it isn’t on your list already.

Y The Last Man – unless, that is, you haven’t read any other issues, seeing as how this one is the second to last issue.
If you’re looking for a printed train wreck, there’s always WWH Gamma Corps.

stealthwise: Dark Horse had a Groo anniversary special on the shelf in the last month or so that you should still be able to track down.

I’d have to lean towards Annihilation: Conquest #1. Annihilation was last year’s biggest surprise. The entire even has an amazing scope, but with a great sense of character development. Plus, the art in the previews looks to be fantastic.
I’d always recommend The Vinyl Underground #2 because #1 was a ton of fun. It had Morrisonian overtones without being ridiclous and the art was a good fit for the story.
Tranquility: Armageddon could be great too if the Midnighter: Armageddon was any indication. Plus, seriously, Christos Gage has been unstoppable as of late.

That hell of pricey Chris Ware thing.
Come on, you know you want it.

Y. And all the back issues and/or Trades.
If not, then The Order.

Groo, of course. No contest!
Unless you are rolling on dough and willing to risk buying one of Checker’s complete sets (Flash Gordon/Steve Canyon/Winsor McKay). Classic strips!
Best,

Groo, Hellboy, Lobster Johnson, All New Atom, Countdown, Infinity Inc, Jonah Hex, Metal Men, Superman, Y the last man, Astonishing X Men, Criminal, Howard the Duck, Iron Fist, Modocks 11, The Order, and Uncanny X men.

The Tank Girl trade is coming out, with wonderful Ashley Wood art and a lot of crazy stories.
I’m looking forward to Astonishing X-Men, but man, did that series start a long time ago. Give Jonah Hex a once-over, even though you weren’t thrilled by it in the past–as usual, it’s a new story and might grab you.

I think you are getting just about everything I am…except Jonah Hex. Can’t wait for Iron Fist!!!

Hex is the sh*t, man. You gotta pick that up.
Also, is no one getting Illuminati #5? I’m kinda psyched for it, given that it’s the first time we’ll see the Skrull issue talked about since the death of Skrullektra.

If you’re interested in that whole Skrull thing and/or some awesome Jimmy Cheung art, that Illuminati #5 is out. I’ve been enjoying the series and of course that art is beautiful.
I think I remember you saying you got Y in trades, but if not, get that of course. I’ve gotten all the issues of the last arc and am going to read them all together when the last one comes out. I can’t trade wait on something this good, but I don’t want to be left in suspense from month to month. Not on this book.
Of course Astonishing X-Men is great stuff and this issues is supposed to be great. I’d even go with that over Uncanny even though it’s a tie-in.

Fearless!

Hellboy #6.
Each issue of Hellboy is cool, and the ironic beauty is that the storyline isn’t really that memorable so you can kind of enjoy it just as much even if you haven’t read the previous installment!

Hey, I LIKE “Gamma Corps.” What’s the general discontent all about?

Scalped or Jonah Hex.
Cowboys and Indians…take your pick.

I want to say Groo, because, well, Groo; and I want to say Fearless, because PJ Holden seems like a really nice guy who deserves a break.
But I’m going to say Scalped, because it’s the flat out best comic I’ve read in years.

Superman #670
MODOK’s 11 #5 (of 5)
Y: The Last Man #59
JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED #39
Astonishing X-Men #23 – This storyline? It’s almost over. Too bad it’s not gonna stick. Dead Cyclops is genius. Especially when one of his last memories is of Emma making the “O” face.
Stupid fleshy thing STILL isn’t buying Ms. Marvel?
What’s the discontent about WWH:GC? See if this review nails it for you.

Oops…I COMPLETELY spaced on the fact that there’s a new BKV issue of Buffy out this week. Buy Buffy. Or, Faith, rather.

Metal Men
All New Atom
Metamorpho
and if you were not already getting it, I would say 2 Guns, but you are.

Matthew: Thanks man, I actually picked it up when it came out (all Groo is on my pull list permanently since 2001. ALL Groo). I’m just surprised to see that there’s another one out so soon.

Definitely Annihilation: Conquest. It’s written by DnA and their Nova is absolutely fantastic. Art looks good, too.
And my favorite mini of recent months comes to a close: MODOKs 11. Bit late to jump on board but at least get the trade. It’s really, really good.
