Love Dustin Nguyenâ€™s Detective. The colors are very classic, but it’s simple.

I agree, Celia Calle’s American Virgin is weird this way, I don’t understand why they removed her background. Maybe it wasn’t finished? :/ It’s on the artist’s website.

Kerschelâ€™s Aqualad freaks me out. And I can make out a Garden of Eden motif in the American Virgin cover, although Iâ€™d prefer to think itâ€™s a magic eye kind of thing, and thereâ€™s a damn sailboat in there.

Yeah, that’s all I could think of, too.

Also, that J. Scott Campbell Ash cover came out this week, didnâ€™t it? Itâ€™s part of a triptych with Jason and Freddy, and I saw it on the shelves. Why is it in there for January?

That Supergirl cover… it atually looks like a bad combo of slightly too high hips and then the waist (and therefore skirt) is a touch too low, so waist and hips are nearly level. It also makes that left leg look extremely painful, like her femur’s become disjointed, if those -are- supposed to be her hips.

Y’know, Terry Dodson is terrific. But doesn’t it strike you that his women all have manly chins?

The Teen Titans Year One cover IS just as cool as you think it is. Still, I think you’ve scored the Countdown/New Gods cover too highly. It’s nice enough but not this month’s #1 (I’d got back to the Titans for that). A

And what’s with the “characters in a bubble” thing on the left-hand side of the Countdown/New Gods cover? I’ve seen the faces-in-a-circle motif done on multiple comic book covers — and just about nowhere else in the world.
