I don’t know if you’re aware of this, but in “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy” series, “Belgium” is pretty much the filthiest word there is. Rex Libris’ usage is not just “ultra-safe silliness”, but rather referential humor to one of the biggest nerd hit series of all time.

To be fair, it had been announced quite some time ago that the Whedon/Cassaday Astonishing X-Men run would end with a Giant-Sized issue.

You may still object to them doing that, but at least it wasn’t sprung on you as a surprise, a la DC.

Another question to ask is whether Scream is WFH or creator owned. Exclusives usually allow creators to do as much as they like for other publishers as long as it’s creator owned.

Man oh man oh man! I can’t win with you. Issue #3 where I spent a whole issue on back story you called the padding issue. This issue where I give you a big operatic ending doesn’t have enough character – ARGH!!!!

Seriously, I do think that if you sit down with all the issues and read them – you’ll find that it all works rather well.

Well, at least 4 or 5 of them were disowned by their parents for being mutants, and along with the orphans that should cover the majority of the team.

What’s Peter David doing writing something new for Dark Horse? I thought he was Marvel-exclusive, and all his non-Marvel work was stuff he started prior to going exclusive.

On the back of issue two, which has short character bios written as though they were excerpts from Vanya’s tell-all book (something alot of celebrity families seem to hold long term grudges for to begin with), there’s a bit about how Kraken was the only person she felt close to. As such, I would imagine he’d have felt more betrayed by her than the others may have (hence the line about thinking he had a sister). Not that any of the cast strike me as the most well adjusted of people to begin with.

As for Vanya’s following decision, well I’m sure it was a toss up as to whether she should join the super-villain in destroying the world or join La Toya Jackson in the pages of Playboy.

Fittingly, only one volume of the actual comic exists and that was published back in 2004.
