I think it was one of the 24 best of this past year, but yeah, I’ll admit, there were a couple of covers really close (I narrowed down from 36 to 24), and the fact that Ringo passed away may have been a deciding factor.

Still, I did pick that cover as my #1 for the month it came out. So simple, yet so strong.

I think it may have been chosen in tribute to the late Mike Wieringo, although admittedly ‘Ringo did draw some much more vibrant covers than that one in his time.
