Although I like your other suggestions a lot, these two sound like they would just turn into excuses for yet another predictable Morrison or Fraction gushfest, which I presume Brian wanted to avoid this time around.

Not just Brian. I mean, I like All-Star Superman as much as anyone, but it’s not the be-all and end-all. I think one of our strengths around here is the diversity of viewpoint and I am hoping for categories that will bring that out.
