"Not for the current DC Comics. They’ve had a ton of lackluster announcements and early disappointing departures. The erratic releases of All Star Superman and All Star Batman, the botched and aborted runs of the Kubert brothers, the high profile relaunches of Wildstorm with top tier talents where they only got one issue in the can from Jim Lee, despite knowing that he’s super-slow and already behind on All-Star Batman. I’m interested in seeing how they botch the Bagley acquisition next."

And don't forget all the starts and stops with Wonder Woman over the last few years.

Bedard is quite a good writer when given a chance -- take a look at Negation or Route 666, or his run on Exiles. His previous efforts on Birds were done, I believe, with the knowledge that he had to act as a placeholder for the new team. Given a chance to actually develop longer-term plots, I think he'll do very nicely on the book.

However, I've got to agree that Andreyko would probably do a pretty good job, too.

But when they do come out, they are so much better than Marvel's books that all is forgiven!

Bedard's work on BoP was head and shoulders above McKeevers, and was much more in line with Simone's work.

How in the heck can you say otherwise is beyond me.

I liked Bedard's Calculator v. Oracle issue (the only one of his I picked up), so I am willing to give him a shot.

I absolutely agree with Misia though; Andreyko would kick ass on the title I imagine.

DC really needs to start casting a wider net in its search for creators. All they seem to be coming back with are cast-off lower-tier Marvel mediocrities like Bedard and Tieri.

I liked Bedard's fill-in stories, actually. So I'm willing to give him a chance to see how he handles an ongoing run on the book.
