What? Damn. The Order was actually good. Also, screw Spider-Man. Joe Quesada can keep him.

Note to Marvel: Next time you launch a book, don't tell people that none of the characters matter enough to be around more than a year and not to get attached to any of them because "they could die at anytime".

One of the big reasons we fanboys love comics is we can become attached to characters.

Congrats to Kitson on the Spider-Man gig though. It's high profile and will be a boost for him and he deserves it. I'd still rather have more Empire.

I don't know where else to say this but I read the first three issues of Dan Slott and Steve McNiven and it might be heresy to say but I found them really enjoyable. I remember someone here comparing it to a early '80s Spider-Man and they're right, but I think it's too simplistic in that it's actually as a result Spider-Man is the most fun it's been in years. I don't really think they needed to do all the retconning to make it happen (it still could have been, say, a divorced Peter Parker or even a married one) but so far creative team #1 are aces in my book. And I'm happy to see Kitson join in the fun.

My first thought was that it was such a shame his artwork would be heading the one place I'd be sure to never see it.

It's almost enough for me to pick up the book. I might even give in enough to pick up that particular issue.

Then again, I might not.

Marvel;s been guilty of squandering many of their exclusives the past few years. Seems they're remedying that with Kitson, which is great. I've always been a fan of that guy, and he keeps improving with each year. Hopefully we'll see more from Tom Grummett soon too.
