Voluminous Vertigo Week: Northlanders #3
DC’s Vertigo line of comics puts out some of the best comics by either Marvel or DC, and this week, a staggering FIVE good Vertigo comic books were released – let’s talk about them – BC.
I left this one for last because I figured Greg Burgas would review it, and he did!!
So I’ll just add a couple of thoughts on top of his!

Davide Gianfelice really has done a good job on this series, art-wise, hasn’t he? Really nailing both the action AND the beautiful sparseness of the setting.
I really enjoy how slowly writer Brian Wood is bringing along the story. It’s a risk, but one that I believe has been paid off so far – we’re really getting to know these characters, and Wood manages to do it without a ton of exposition, also.
Finally, how cool was the Stag God scene?
Recommended.

Another asskicking comic. I’m loving Brian Wood’s writing. It took me a bit for DMZ to sink in but he’s got Sven rolling and rampaging like crazy. But the real draw for me is Davide Gianfelice’s pencils.
Worth picking up
