Wasn't the Red Hulk in the First Issue?

I'm not imagining that, right? The Red Hulk was both in the first issue of the Hulk, but he was also on the cover, no?

See!!

So why is Marvel getting a USA Today article about the debut of the Red Hulk, but for issue #2?

I don't get it.

You only see his hand and shadow in the issue, there probably talking about the first time people actually see him and stay alive. You know, first interaction with other characters on page.... maybe we will find out were you get a hulk sized gun now

The cynic in me wants to say because that's the only way to ensure it will sell real numbers.

I don't think red Hulk was in the issue. When Samson recreated the crime scene, he thought they were dealing with green Hulk, so that's what McGuinness drew. It struck me as odd at the time, and probably another reason the issue wasn't that good.

Oh God. Not the dreaded "Cameo (in shadows)" designation again.

Did you even see him in shadow? I thought it was just the green-Hulk flashback, like josh said.

Don't have the issue with me here at work, but I'm pretty sure you only see him (1) on the cover and (2) reflected in Tony's mask/helmet in the preview image at the end. I remember being surprised by that.

What are you doing on here?! What's this?!... COMICBOOKS?!! What are you, a child?!

YOU ARE FIRED!!

That issue of USA Today was packed full of press releases. I guess it was a slow news day.

Bummer, Rich.

Hope it was worth it.

Ha! As long as I publish and show up to teach, I can read comic sites at work all day. ::

From my years actually reading not only Wizard but the price listings -- and for fun -- I grew to love the shorthand mentioning who guest-starred, and whose first appearance it was. It always bugged me when, as with Doomsday, they gave him four issues of pounding on a door before his first appearance. Which counted? the first one where you saw some of his claw? The first time the door appeared, since he was banging on the other end of it?

I forget -- does Red Hulk mean he gives everyone else Kryptonian superpowers, or that he saps away other people's powers?

No, Jeff. He's a communist.

Or REALLY embarrased.
(And I would be too, if I was written bu Jeff Loeb)
((Well, that's not strictly true... I'ld be royally pissed)).

Red Hulk (Rulk?) wasn't actually in Hulk #1 at all besides the cover, and the reflection in Iron Man's mask on the cover of #2 in the back letters page thing

the only Hulk appearence was Doc Samson hypothesizing what happened to abomination, and he imagined a green hulk with a gun

I can't wait for Blue Hulk, and I think I am getting Pink Hulk for my girlfriend.

Bet we still don't see no black hulk though, right?!

I pity the fool who don't gimme no black Hulk! I do!

Sorry. That was me again, posting under a different name. I just realised that what I thought was a lighthearted joke, complete with Mr T reference, might actually be misconstrued as a racist diatribe. This was never my intention and I apologise profusely for any offence caused.

Rich... I'll... I'll see you in work tomorrow, 'kay?

When will we see the Rainbow Hulks VS. the Rainbow Lanterns?

I heartily approve ofthe name 'Rulk'

May be the Hulk is red is because maybe the Hulk is developing a multiple personliaty disorder. After all He is a result from Dr. Banner's disorder. Perhaps the Hulk after losing the women he loved, being haunted and hounded has seveloped another personality on his own. Calling Dr. Samson...You'll have your hands full helping Dr. Banner, the Hulk coming to be because of Dr. Banners disorder, now the Hulk developing one. uGGGGGGGG!

I say the red Hulk is the Maestro. Remeber in the Marvel timeline there are two Hulks who walk upon the Earth. The Maestro we know came beck to life when his past self was reamerged with Banner. Banner is a man who has multiple personalities, as an older man, his personality disrder can still be, the older Banner in the deep part of his mind created another personality thus good-bye Maestro, Hello Red Hulk.
